We have a wonderful, caring team of practitioners who are experienced and trained to nurture, care and inspire every child, providing the best start and education for your little ones.
Our friendly team
Our pre-school Manager Kellie Woolley, has been with us since 2015. She has a Level 6 BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies and is passionate about creating a safe and welcoming environment for both children and staff.
Kellie is also joined by a fully-qualified team of pre-school practitioners and key-workers:

Our employment procedures
When a new staff member joins us, they undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) criminal records check.
They will also be required to provide references and take part in a six month induction.
All our staff hold current Paediatric First Aid certificates and at minimum, a full Level 3 childcare qualifications.
The knowledge of our staff is paramount, and we provide the opportunity for all staff to attend training provided both within the pre-school and with the Local Authority.

Our administration
Blackdown Pre-School is run by an elected committee, which ensures that decision making is in the hands of the parents and other committee members who form the group.
The committee is responsible for reviewing both policy and practice, the employment of staff and fundraising activities. Blackdown Pre-School has a full-time manager who oversees the running of the Pre-School daily.
